Investigative Journalism project

Go over handout of topics.

Students form working groups.

Select a topic and decide on print or broadcast journalism (video).

Begin doing research for your project and plan what each member of the group will focus on.

Post your project ideas and plans on the web site.

  3. Briyanna, Erin, Samantae, and Ashley are planning to do reality television and how teens have become obsessed with the drama and violence during these shows. Shows like Jersey Shore, Bad Girls Club, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant etc.

  4. Angela Rollins and Mariah are planning to do a documentary on teens' self image. We will interview high schoolers of both genders. We will research why people look down on them self, what causes bad self image, etc. This will also tie into gossip and eating disorders.

  5. Cassidy, My and Norah are planning on writing about the whole concept of Body Image. We will be covering not only the perceptions of beauty today and in the past, but also of the health issues related with 'obtaining beauty' and the controversy of the means of achieving 'beauty.'
