  1. I think that these people are just being prejiducous against Obama. He's doing a good thing, by inspiring the children of America to continue pursuing an education. I see nothing wrong with his speech. It's perfectly fine honestly, I think they're just trying to find an excuse to get on Obama's case.

  2. i feel that the controversy of president obama's speech is ridiculous. okay, he may have told students to stay in school, but he this speech is not to warn people that he is going to brainwash students into taking over the world.

  3. I found nothing wrong with the speech. I fell it was a very positive speech to students and wasn't bias. President Obama did a good thing by talking to students about issues that are growing with teenagers. I wasn't insulted in any way as a teenager who will take the presidents advice and get my education.

  4. I think that people are makingo way to big of a deal out of Obama's speech to students. I think it was a good idea for Obama to talk to students about how serious their education is. People who disagree with Obama's decision and are trying to over dramatize the situation because they may not agree with other situations in politics.

  5. i didnt find anything wrong with the speech that our president made. all he's trying to do is tell children to stay in school and do something useful with their lives.

  6. I think that people are soooo stupid. All the man was trying to do was inform students that school is cool. Why people took it wrong, I do not know. I think that they just take any opportunity they can and pick out little things to make Obama a bad person. I think what he said was encouraging.

  7. i really think that the media is making too much about this speech. The fact that some parents won't let their childern watch this is crazy. He is doing nothing but trying to motivate and encourage our youth. He even talked about some of the things he has done in the past and how he turned his life around so he could be a positive role model for us. Whats wrong with that? Are people really going to try to stop their childern from looking up to a positive role model like the united states of america!!! that's crazy

  8. I think Obama's speech was good, it was a positive message to our youth about how important education is and how it can impact us. I don't understand why people feel the speech was "brain-washing" students.

  9. I think that this speech that obama gave to the students was good and it is a positive thing to talk about to students because it is very true that we all need education in order to moveon in life. now if you want to get a good job you have to have a college education in order to even have a lower class job. i think that we all need to stay in school so we can have a good life in the future

  10. I understand the concept that federal government should not across over to state government. But is Pres. Barack Obama really crossing or stepping outside of his job description (being bout of federal government)? If Bush and Kennedy can make a speech to the kids without being pressure by critics why does Obama have to bw pressured? Personally, this contreversy is based on racism. There is no other explaination for it.

  11. There is definatley a bias in the media, not so much in newspsapers and the like, but on the news, which normally only report one side of an issue. I didn't personally see a bias in Obama's speech or feel indoctrinated in the slightest. People were grossly exaggerating. I am becoming more and more frustrated with pundants, and conservatives who dominate our news media. Also in response to the many accusations of "communism" and "socialism" going around it's seems as if these people are trying to incite a seconnd red scare. It's both frustrating and a bit unnerving.

  13. Honestly, this "controversy" is just a waste of time. I saw nothing wrong the this speech, though admittedly I did question this remark;

"At the end of the day, the circumstances of your life -- what you look like, where you come from, how much money you have, what you've got going on at home -- that's no excuse for neglecting your homework or having a bad attitude,"

While yes, the circumstances do not tolerate a negative attitude, I can understand why some people may neglect their homework. For all we know, that person may have five younger siblings under the age of four who they must look after when school ends for the day because their parents are unable to take care of them, and there is no immediate family members in the area to care for them.

Anyway, the people who are accusing him of "brainwashing" children are merely brainwashing themselves. The speech was meant to raise student morale about school, not turn them into "Obama's Army".

Whoever is saying this needs to stop worrying about a little speech and need to be concerned about helping their country before everything takes a turn for the worst.

Now I can see why some other countries dislike us...

  14. In my opinion, this is just another way that the republicans and other "haters" to fight for conservative power. They all hate change, and as many of them believe they are real Americans, they obviously have not remembered our declaration of independence, which states "all men are created equal." So just because he is half black, just because some of his family is Muslim and his middle name is Housain, does not mean he is not a real American. What is a real American anyway? it is so unclear now a days, that you should not judge. Especially after the last eight years of George W. Bush.
I would also like to note that, it has come to my attention that the Fox news, is incredibly bias. During our election they never held back from not doing the right thing and bad mouthing Obama. Thats all.

  15. I think the fact that people are complaining and saying that Obama is trying to "brain wash" children is stupid and immature. It seems like people who didn't want President Barack to win the election keeps taking everything he says and turning the good into bad. The back to school speech Obama delivered--made sense and was very logical. Everything he said parents constantly are telling their children the same thing Obama is telling us. Such as "children have to strive for greatness in order to achieve it." He also tells us about responsibility and all our choices are the end result of us. I admire the way Obama is talking to the children because it sounds really down to earth and it doesnt seem like he's belittling us. In conclusion I dont think anything was wrong with Obama's speech.

  16. I guess I am biased too because I believe that Obama's speech was for the best intention of the kids. People that fee his speech is depicting socialism are being prejudice most likely of the color of
Obama's skin. When teacher's asked their students "What can you do to help President Obama..." they felt he was trying to be superior when in fact he only stated that doing his job as president is not enough. Kids as they get older have to help themselves and in turn help each other because we are a nation. And a nation has to work together to be a nation.

well i think obama has a point in trying to educate children but if they dont want to learn let them learn on their own.

  17. i think that the people allowing children to believe that the speech Obama gave was wrong, and communist esk is full of it. I believe that if a permission slip was needed for Obama's speech, then one should have been given for all the other president's that gave the same type of speeches. that was absolutely dispickable. I can't believe people would stoop that low to make up such thing's about Obama. I love Obama, and I will be behind him every way.

  18. Maybe I'm being ignorant, but I don't really see any sort of problem with the speech. It seems to me like they just inflated the it into some sort of issue that wasn't really worth starting.
